AI Consultants for Nonprofits Launches An Accredited AI Certification to Support Nonprofits In Upskilling Their Teams

AI Consultants for Nonprofits (AICN) has launched a first-of-its-kind accredited AI certification program designed specifically for nonprofit professionals. The comprehensive 12-week course equips participants with practical artificial intelligence skills they can use to build capacity and drive innovation within their organizations.

AICN founder, Shereese Floyd, recognized that many social good organizations want to utilize AI but lack expertise and resources for effective implementation and training. This certification fills that gap.

"Nonprofits are understandably focused on their missions, not necessarily the latest technologies. With increasing demand in the sector, the mission can get buried in the necessaries of the work" said Floyd. "But AI presents opportunities to work smarter and achieve greater impact. We're giving nonprofit’s the knowledge to coexist with these tools and create a certified resident expert on their team."

The curriculum covers AI fundamentals, legal/ethical use, integration planning, and hands-on applications tailored to nonprofits - from automating routine tasks to enhancing fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, board development, program evaluation and more. Participants learn by applying concepts to real life on-their-desk challenges so they can immediately implement AI to drive their mission forward.

For organizations with workforce development programs, the certification can be licensed to offer AI training and upskilling opportunities directly to clients. This pathway promotes equitable access to this technology for in-demand, sought-after skills.

A study by McKinsey and Co, Generative AI and the Future of Work in America, outlines how the jobs most at risk for loss with AI advancements are those held by women and people of color. And in its recent article, The Impact of Generative AI on the Black Community, it reads: Generative AI has the potential to widen the racial economic gap in the United States by $43 billion each year. But deployed thoughtfully, it could actually remove barriers to Black economic mobility.

"AI is making its way into every sector and it has great benefits to nonprofits. My goal is to make AI accessible to everyone, especially those working tirelessly to close the wealth gap and advance gender and racial equality," Floyd stated. "For an industry that runs on passion, this certification ensures thoughtful and responsible integration of AI and supports nonprofits in building a culture where AI responds to the realities of the work, so they can get back to addressing the true need.”

The next AI certification course from AI Consultants for Nonprofits begins on April 1. To register for more information on the AI Consultants for Nonprofits Certification, visit aiconsultantsfornonprofits.com.
